6. Why did I Receive a Delinquent Notice After I Paid My Bill?
When you receive your semi-annual water bill, there is a due date near the top of the bill;
it is always the first of the month. You have 30 days in which to pay your bill. If your
payment is not received in our office by 30 days after the due date, a second notice is sent
out. For example, if your bill was due on Tuesday, July 1 and your payment was received
on Thursday, July 31, your payment is late and a delinquent notice will be mailed. To
avoid receiving a delinquent notice with interest and penalty due, New Britain Water must
receive your payment within 30 days of the due date listed on the cycle bill. If your
payment is being mailed, please make sure to allow sufficient time for delivery.
